Thursday Blues...
That has to be it. I can't think of another reason for not being able to sleep. I mean, what are the odds of staying up for no utter reason last Thursday AND again this Thursday?
Since I've not updated for a week, here's a recap of last week's events:
FRIDAY
William's bday. Went out the night before (the night I couldn't sleep) to celebrate. So Eve drove down with a couple of her unimates, Gary and Vincent. Chin Yung and I drove another two cars to ferry Hani, Colleen, Yen Lu, Kalai and Januarius to Mines Shopping Centre to celebrate. Unfortunately we arrived there kinda late due to the heavy traffic.. so we settled for McD. William uploaded a few pics in his blog. Click on it to view the pics. I'm kinda lazy to upload them here :P
SATURDAY
I guess it's the routine thing. Nothing unusual happened...except that the new car arrived. It's not a brand new car... it's almost a 10 year old car. But it still runs smoothly and it was a rather good buy. Too bad it's blue in colour. Had it been silver, then all the cars at home will be uniform in colour. Anyway...
SUNDAY
Sofi's bday... Happy Belated Birthday ya, Sofi~ Had grading too. This grading must have been the one and only grading I attend that ended before noon. Other than that, nothing spectacular to blog about.
MONDAY
Went to class at usual. Thought I only had 1 hour class in the evening.. mana tau I actually had 2 hours. The 2nd hour lecture was Advanced Electromagnetics Theory. New lecturer 'cos it's a new chapter. But he teaches kinda messy. Jumps from one page of the notes to another, not in sequence. I've been O_o throughout his lecture. He has the knowledge, but I don't think he really knows how to present it lor. I dunno la. Maybe it's js me *shrugs. Then at night, went over to Charng's place. They cooked some food for a crowd of about 20 ppl to celebrate Khek's bday. It was funny when we played blackjack. There were two "tables" playing blackjack - all guys on one and all girls on the other. Since the girls didnt want to gamble (with money), they used finger food as forfeit for the losers. 10 chips per loss. If the someone hits 21, loser has to finish up 20 chips. The birthday boy, Khek joined us for two games. He became the banker... and the first round, he got blackjack. EVERYONE retaliated and he gave in (all girls ma, except him). So all of us were exempted from eating the chips. And in the 2nd round... someone got blackjack and Khek had to eat 20 chips. Then, I think his cards lost to two other ppl.. making it a total of 40 chips. The way he tried to cheat his way on eating less than 40 chips by stuffing a few chips in his mouth at a time... HILLARIOUS~! We managed to keep track though.. unfortunately for him. After that round, we never saw Khek again :P There were other funny incidents too.. like how Vivien din know how to play the game hence, her blurness during the game, her scrutinizing eyes on her cards when she din know whether or not to draw more cards, etc etc. After everyone left, a few of us stayed back to clean up. Went back to the hostel about 2am.
TUESDAY
Had classes/lab frm 9am-4pm... with only 30 mins break at lunch time. Then, went training at night. Was surprised with the turnout. Yoke Yin came. She didn't come for training for 2 semesters already. There's Yaa Lian a.k.a. Ah Lian a.k.a YaYa. She hasn't come the whole of last sem, so did Hani. Prema did attend trainng last sem, but not very often. Overall, it wasn't that good a turnout, but definitely better than the previous classes. A good sign? I sure do hope so...
WEDNESDAY
I almost fainted during tutorial class today. No, not literally pengsan la.. but was really bengang la. Our tutor, came into the class and started writing down the solutions on the board... exactly from the answer sheet, word for word, no kidding. You may think that he's a new guy, it's his first class.. so he's not used to teaching. But Ling checked, he's PhD holder~! One would expect more explanation than plain copy-and-paste solutions from a PhD holder. Oh... and guess what subject he's tutoring us? Yup, it's Advanced E. I'm so gonna fail this subject this sem...
That's about it. I'll TRY to get some sleep now. *fingers crossed*
P/S:
Attention to all WWW readers~! It's the flu season. Be sure you dress warmly, drink sufficient water and get enough rest (despite my "insomnia".. I do take afternoon naps to compensate the lack of sleep).
